![]() i, I am the afternoon drive announcer at 95 Crave in Vancouver, BC, voted Best Afternoon Radio DJ in the Georgia Straight's Best of Vancouver 2007. You can "catch the buzz" live weekdays from 3p – 7p pst via my Ustream broadcast. My radio career started in 1990 when I left BCIT and moved to CJIB in Vernon, British Columbia. I became music director, and also had a weekly music column in a local newspaper. While in the Okanagan, I also worked as a stringer on YTV's Rock n Talk. In 1993, after 2+ years of spamming the program director with airchecks and phone calls, I landed a weekend gig at Z95.3FM in Vancouver. Over the past 15 years, I have worked every shift on the station, from evenings to overnights and a couple of stints hosting the morning show. In June, 2007, Zed was put to rest when the station changed its name to 95Crave. Currently, I hold down one of the top rated afternoon drive slots in the city from 3p-7p. I've also appeared on Food Network Canada, on CBC-TV, on a national campaign for Subway, on Roger's Cable’s Daytime and on UPN's Breaker High. For 2 years I was the host of the Canadian Hot 20 with Buzz Bishop – a weekly countdown show heard across Canada. I have been lucky to interview many of today’s biggest stars including: Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, Mick Jagger, P Diddy, Christina Aguilera, Destiny’s Child, Alanis Morrissette, Nelly Furtado and more. In my nearly 2 decades of broadcasting, I have successfully branched into all major forms of media: radio, television, print and cyber. I have been the host of cyberbuzz since 1995. It's a daily 60 second radio feature about the internet and wired culture. In 2004/2005 I was the host of cyberbuzz.tv, a weekly segment on CityTV's Breakfast Television. I've contributed to Yahoo's Launch.com and the Vancouver Sun. Currently, I'm a tech writer for 24hrs, a free daily newspaper in Vancouver and Vancouver View Magazine. Now, about that name... I am always asked "Is that your real name?" Well, I was born just 7 months after Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon – that’s who I'm named after, and that's who I'm pictured with at the right. Well, the near right... the far right is my son, Zacharie. My little Zizou was born May, 2007. |
