I like reality tv, I do, but I think the label is spread a little too wide. Stuff like Survivor, Amazing Race, American Idol etc are more Game Show than reality tv.
To me, reality tv is more of a life docudrama. John and Kate Plus Eight, Rich Bride, Poor Bride, Flip That House etc are Reality TV. It’s fun to see how crazy other people can get. It makes me feel better about myself. Lol.
With the writers’ walkout down south, more “reality” tv is being served. Up next on NBC’s schedule is a show that’s quite a propos. The Baby Borrowers.
Yes, hot on the heels of Jamie Lynn Spears getting sperminated at 16, and her sister committing parenting crimes daily, comes a show featuring all those freaky teens you see on Maury. You know the ones who are 14, 15, 17, thinking that being a parent is fun, and babies are cute, and they can’t wait to have them.
It wasnt supposed to debut until the fall, but with the strike it’s been fast tracked to February 18.
This show takes that high school family planning class where you look after a doll or egg for a week and kicks it up a notch. For 3 days they look after infants, then toddlers, then preteens, then teenagers, then … senior citizens. Bam!
I am soooo excited to have found a live stream of Good Day LA. It’s my kind of morning news show on tv. Loose, informative, silly, editorial - it’s good time. And I can watch it in a tiny window on my computer while I work - love the internets.
How are you doing on your New Year’s Resolutions? cyberbuzz has a list of sites and apps you can use to help you stay in the groove.
I have just been asked to be on CBC’S Test The Nation on January 20. On the bloggers panel.
You know the show, an IQ kinda test where they throw up quiz questions for you to “play at home” while you compare your answers with esteemed panelists from different occupations across the country. Last year they had radio peeps on the show, I figured that’s where I was headed, until I got the forms - they want me to sit on the blog panel.
Now, I’ve been “blogging” since 1995, so I don’t feel totally out of place. I taught myself HTML and have written web lists and editorials and newspaper columns and hosted radio shows on technology since the early days of dial-up, so I’m worthy.
But I’ve only had a reasonable WordPress blog for 2 weeks. So compared to local blogebrities like NetChick, Miss604, Meg Fowler and John Chow - I feel a little “not worthy.”
But who cares, I’m going to the T-Dot to meet Wendy Mesley. Have crushed on her for nearly 20 years. (She was even on my “list” at one point)
If you thought figuring out why the people on Dancing with the Stars were considered “Stars” was difficult, get ready for even more confusion on Thursday when The Donald returns with The Celebrity Apprentice.
Trace Adkins
Carol Alt
Stephen Baldwin
Nadia Comaneci
Tiffany Fallon
Jennie Finch
Nely Galan
Marilu Henner
Lennox Lewis
Piers Morgan
Omarosa
Tito Ortiz
Vincent Pastore
Gene Simmons
I kinda know who most of the people are, but a few I have no clue. The big highlight will be seeing Gene Simmons tell Trump how’s it done. I give him til halfway through The Donald’s opening monologue before he loses it.
Since when did Omarosa join Cher, Madonna and Oprah as singularly named? Ugh. Yeah, I’ll watch - just to see if they smack her in the head with falling drywall again.

Regis and Kelly are having a Beautiful Baby contest. We just saw the promo and there are HUGE prizes. Over $100 grand and a cover shot on a magazine …
Not one to be shy from pimping out my son, I got all excited and then quickly deflated thinking it was probably for US babies only.
Well guess what? It’s not! The rules say Canadian babies are good to go, but the picture has to be taken in the last month. Here are couple of pics Jen took at the beginning of the month .. I had a hard time deciding. Which would you have entered?
#2 is the one I submitted. Deadline for entries is January 11, so we’ll find out in a couple of weeks if Le Grand Monsieur is cute enough!

I have seen 2 movies in the past 6 months. It’s an effect that is directly proportional to the birth of my son. My mom babysat for us to have a “date night” for the Bourne IdentityUltimatumSupremacy 3 and then a couple weeks ago we saw American Gangster at the Twilight Drive In.
That’s it.
There was a time when I would see 3 or 4 movies a month and I would be fully versed in the pros and cons of each nominee for the Oscars or Golden Globes. This year I haven’t got a clue.
Even with the ability to download movies freely on the internet, I’m still not motivated to go and grab anything and cosy up with my Creative Zen and watch a flick. Nothing interests me.

The awards are scheduled for the new year, but the show might be super boring if no stars show up. There’s word the actors will boycott in solidarity with the Writers Strike.
