Yes, I Ustream my show so you can catch things live when I’m on the air.
I thought it would be fun to set up a time lapse for an hour so you could watch it in high speed. (BTW this is a video from the spring, I’m not wearing turtlenecks in July)

I’ll pick the first number and then you just put the number you want on the ticket in the comments section. I’ll group them, in order, into sets of 6 and buy the tickets.
Anything less than $10 each will be donated to Team Diabetes Easter Island. Anything greater than $10 each will be split evenly.
I pick #4 .. which number do you want on the ticket?
Entries will be capped at 10a Friday June 27, or at 119 responses (i.e. 20 tickets), whichever comes first.

I haven’t played golf since my buddy Roger swung through Vancouver last summer. Before that round, I hadn’t played since Jen and I took a babymoon to Cuba for New Year’s.
In 18 months, that would be 4 rounds of golf. I used to play that much every single week - when I was single.
Now, with the bebe, it’s tough to get up in the morning and hit the links before work. There’s feeding, diapering, changing and napping to look after.
This weekend, it will change. I’m going to see Roger, and Frank, and Erin, and Amber. All pals who have worked at Z95-3 through the years - now they’re all in Calgary rocking the airwaves there. That will be fun, it’s the golf that’s going to be killer.
5 rounds in 3 days. One on Friday, two on Saturday and two on Sunday. Sunday is what I’m looking forward to the most, a couple 18s in the Rockies. First at Kananaskis (below) and then at Silver Tip.
5 rounds of golf in 3 days. I haven’t even mentioned the poker, steaks and wine that will be had. It’s going to be a blast. But a bittersweet one. I won’t be home until well past Z’s bedtime on Sunday meaning I won’t see him on Father’s Day.

When Leo Laporte’s tv show, The Lab with Leo was canclled earlier this year by Rogers Television, he didn’t get on the phone and try to shop it to another network. Instead, he rented out a second floor of his workspace in Pentaluma, California and created his own network – online.
Such is broadcasting in 2008. You don’t need a traditional network to get your message out. Leo spent $30 000 on equipment for his studio and created his own.
The Super 7 Jackpot is $27M tonight and you get 3 tickets for $2.
I used to Lotto Pools all the time when this blog was on MySpace, don’t know why I haven’t done it over here.
Here’s how it works:leave a comment with a number between 1 and 47. I’ll take the numbers in order and group them together into sets of 7 and buy tickets for tonight’s lottery.
Everyone who puts down a number agrees to split the winnings equally with all the other posters. Anything equal to, or less than, $10 each in winnings will be recycled into new tickets with the same people agreeing to split.
Post away .. I pick #4, the next 20 commenters are in on the draw.

Very few actual dates are burned into my brain. I mean, burned in as month, day and year.
I know January 28, 1986. That was my 16th birthday, it’s also the day the shuttle exploded.
I know the Victoria Day Weekend of 1990 was when I moved for my first radio job at CJIB in Vernon (which makes this weekend my 18th anniversary in the biz!!).
I know I started at 95.3 in Vancouver on Labour Day of 1993.
Zacharie was born May 31, 2007. My mom and dad were married October 21, 1967.
So apart from family or personal dates, there’s nothing really that stands out in my mind - except May 18, 1980.
I have always remembered the exact date Mount St Helens exploded. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because I was 10, an age where boys are fascinated things that go boom. But what makes my memory of this date remarkable, is that I was living in Ontario at the time of the explosion.
Our family was preparing to move from Kingston, Ontario to Richmond, BC later that summer. At the time of the eruption my dad was out west looking at homes. He brought me home a plastic envelope of ash. It was one of those prized possessions I had pinned to my bulletin board for years until, in my early adulthood, I started moving around a lot and saw it as useless, instead of the vital childhood souvenir it has become.
So I don’t have the envelope of ash, but I do think about it every year, on May 18.

Earlier this week I put out a call for help with creating some banners and buttons to spread the word about Team Diabetes Easter Island and the effort to raise $10 000 for the cause.
My pal, Carolyn, did a little bit of grown up art while her daughter was colouring. Here’s one she came up with:
Here are some thumbnails of others she designed:
