Nel Peach has been a supporter of Team Diabetes for a few years now, she’s gearing up for her 6th event in Kelowna this month, and then she’s off to Disney World for her 7th Team Diabetes event.

I’ve met Nel through the powers of the itnernets, and she’s been a great inspiration. I interviewed her on air this morning:

You can read about her story at People with Diabetes.

The deadline to join us in Florida this January is Friday. Here’s all you need to know about the Team Diabetes program, all that’s left is for you to join!

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since I was picked Best Afternoon Drive Host in the Georgia Straight 2007 Best of Vancouver Poll. (it’s only been 10 mos since the results aren’t published until September)

Well, it’s time again to get on a soap box and ask for your vote.

best of vancouver

It will take time, there’s a long list of categories to weave through, I’m eagerly campaigning to regain my Best Afternoon Host crown (tiara) but there are other categories in the media list this year, specifically in the online media category.

Blogs are big buzz in 2008, so don’t give that category a miss … scribble my name on the line. Or, you know, write your own in if you think your blog is better.

You have to answer at least 25 categories to have your ballot be valid and there are more than 100 different categories to choose from.

Don’t forget to write Bobby Ackles in the Local Football Hero slot, and Trevor Linden for the hockey one.

A lot of the categories are geared at the local scene, but part of the fun of this survey is writing in smart ass comments, so drop your best in the ballot box!

Yes, I Ustream my show so you can catch things live when I’m on the air.

I thought it would be fun to set up a time lapse for an hour so you could watch it in high speed. (BTW this is a video from the spring, I’m not wearing turtlenecks in July)
