Vancouver Canucks Stanley Cup Fever: Resetting the Playoff Beard is Allowed
We all have our own playoff traditions. Mine changes every year, although it usually does involve the growing of the playoff beard to cheer on the Vancouver Canucks.
A few years back I rocked it all the way til May when the Canucks met the Wild in the 2nd round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
2 years ago, I started shaving it down bit by bit to try and change the mojo of the Canucks as they got in tight against the Anaheim Ducks.
This year, I’m doing a full and clean reset each and every playoff round. I will grow it while they’re playing, but when one opponent is vanquished, the beard that defeated that foe is shed and a fresh team is brought in.
It’s like changing your penalty killers. You wouldn’t leave Kesler and Burrows out there for the whole 2 minutes, would you?
You gotta freshen the legs. Same thing with playoff beards. It’s a renewable resource, so use it.
Besides, I didnt shave the whole thing .. I left the soul patch in there, it’s like Luongo.
Resetting the playoff beard each round is cool, kosher and encouraged.
Go Canucks Go!
The Blog According to Buzz. Spread the word, ya heard?

Is that the collective sigh of thankfulness from wives and girlfriends all throughout the lower mainland I just heard?
haha you’re hilarious! Love it.
Go Canucks wooooo!
I’d recommend shaving in the shower….the steam softens the beard enough to cut through it like butta….
’stache was a pretty strong look…interested to see what else you got in store.
Cheers
So, what are the rules about growing the second round playoff beard? Does it start now? Start after the puck drops for round two?
It starts when we determine who the second round opponent is. I’m guessing a week.
Well, based on tonight’s results it could be decided by the end of the weekend. That being said, the fiancee is telling me that she feels that by me taking it off, it would be bad luck to allow it to go back on. Sheesh.
