Perfect, and as it should be.

The Teahouse is one of the jewels in Vancouver’s spectacular dining scenery. Located with a perfect western view from Ferguson Point in Stanley Park, there are few places in the city more stunning where you can spend an elegant lunch, a relaxing tea or a romantic dinner.

Restaurant History
sequoia grill1940: The original building (the central “Tea Room”) was built as a WWII garrison and officer’s mess.
1951-1964: The original building ran as a tea room by the Floris family in the summer months.
1976: The Tea House was closed down by the city for two years as it was badly in need of repairs.
1978-1979: Brent Davies leased the building from the Parks Board, renovated and opened it as a restaurant, keeping the historic name.
1980: The glass Conservatory was added to the southeast side.
1982: The Drawing Room was built onto the northeast side.
1994: The 34 seat patio was added.
2004: Major renovations were completed on the patio.
2009: Dropping “Sequoia Grill” from it’s title, the Teahouse re-launches under its original name as a tribute to its extensive history.

To welcome the return of The Teahouse name, The Sequoia Group of Restaurants (also includes Cardero’s, Seasons and SandBar) is holding a contest inviting you to write about some of your favourite Teahouse memories with Tales of the Teahouse.

The Teahouse has become such a landmark in this city because of the people who have experienced so many wonderful occasions here. Countless engagements, anniversary celebrations – you name it, it has probably happened here.”

General Manager, Mona Trivedi agrees, “We want to recognize the people who have allowed us to be a part of the big moments in their lives.”

On May 14th three lucky patrons will win:

    an unforgettable vacation in Montreal,
a romantic getaway to Victoria, via Harbour Air,
or a trip to the Okanagan, which includes a tour of the renowned Mission Hill Winery

Simply tell your Tale of the Teahouse and you’re entered to win. The deadline for entries is April 30, 2009.
