Wine Wednesday: Pink Is the New Year’s Eve Bubble
Jen and I love us some Pink.
It’s a fresh, flirty bubble from Yellowglen in Australia, it’s just $12 and it’s PINK! It’s cute, and actually very very good.
That pricepoint beats the heck out of a pink bubble Jen saw on Martini Boys yesterday. Fleury Brut Rose is a cotton candy pink explosion.
Fleury produce a strawberry-scented pink Champagne that is as good to look at as it is to drink; pink lights remind one of slow sunsets, spring, cocktail rings.
The blog entry says it’s only $50. After we called around we found it at Liberty Wine Merchants for $84 – taking a pass. Need something pink? Grab Pink instead.
If you’re a traditionalist, Jen recommends grabbing some Seaview, it’s your regular golden bubbly goodness and has a perfect pricepoint at just $13.
Us? When I was having my day without internet yesterday, I cleaned up the crawl space and we re-organized the wine racks to find a fabulous bottle of Pol Roger. We’ll crack that quietly at midnight while Z is asleep.
What will you sip as the 2008 seconds slip away?
The Blog According to Buzz. Spread the word, ya heard?

We’re completely with you on the fun and frivolous pink! Tonight we’ll be sipping the 2007 Sofia Blanc de Blancs available from the Dundarave Wine Cellar (unfortunately sold out since before Xmas).
We sampled this Californian sparkler on our anniversary back in May. Delightfully fruity and youthful, it receives extra points for the frilly pink cello wrap it comes in.
Also chilling away are a few bottles of Spanish cava from Segura Viudas. A staple in mi casa and perfect with paella!
¡Feliz Año Nuevo!
