As in willing to co-operate, negotiate and work together for responsible Canadian government.

mutiny

I’m aghast at the ignorance of the Canadian electorate today. To cry “we didn’t vote for this” in response to the impending coalition government is folly. We ALL voted for this. A minority government places a serious check on the government. In order to maintain leadership, they need to build consensus with the opposition. Harper was unable to do this, the opposing parties united and have built consensus.

It works in Norway, why can’t it work here?

Voila - responsible government for Canada could be just days away.

Here’s a smattering from the Canadian Twitterati:

CarolFil: Democracy is alive and well. Let’s bring on the coalition government and get real results done in Ottawa. #canadarally

motionblur: The Conservative party’s plans to use Twitter as one of the tools against the coalition is backfiring quiet humorously. #canadarally

rljd: #canadarally It’s so cute how scared the Cons are of how our government actually works when they can’t just manipulate it at will. Crumbs!

tawker: Canadian Election: $200.6 Mil, Seeing #canadarally Harper freak Priceless. There’s somethings Obama can do, for everything else there’s CA

glenkrueger: #canadarally 37% does not make you entitled to be PM; being a responsible and caring leader does. Harper has failed

tawker: #canadarally Only if Harper would grow up and actually be a PM (wiretapping a la Watergate isn’t) and Dion would accept fact it helps.

dwf: This #canadarally / #rallyforcanada stuff is laughable. Minority govts get overturned, happens all the time in Britain, often w/o election

ShireenJ: And we have a counter to #canadarally with a petition: http://causes.ca/coalition Think warm bodies trump signatures. Thnx @overthrowHarper!

gregorybodnar: #canadarally Noise about being “undemocratic” is misleading. http://www.hurl.ws/euv

joshaidan: #canadarally Remember the opposition controls the majority of seats in the house

timbulger: #canadarally tinyurl.com/5zfbuo “..if it wants to govern for any length of time, is it must appeal primarily to the third parties” S.Harper

davecournoyer: Both the Cons and the Lib-NDP coalition will need the BQ to survive. It’s math, not politics. #canadarally

saskboy: Can you picture Conservative Suits protesting and acting like “dirty hippies”? It brings a smile to my face. #canadarally
