Okay, so Jen and I are rocking and rolling along with our LA Weight Loss plan, but here come the rapids - holiday feasts.

Thanksgiving is this weekend, and while a splurge here or there will not throw anyone off the wagon completely, they can disrupt your routine and schedule and re introduce bad habits.

We’re not going to be party poopers, but here’s a couple of easy, common sense hints to eat healthy at Thanksgiving.
4 Thanksgiving Turkeys by Mother and Son!
      - choose white meat
      - avoid the potatoes, stuffing and gravy
      - go easy on the booze
      - no whip on your pumpkin pie

Steering away from the fats and starches will help you keep the diet on balance, and loading your plate with salad, veggies and turkey breast meat shouldnt be a problem.

All healthy eating is plain common sense. For Jen and I, working within the LA Weight Loss program keeps us on track and takes the thinking out of meal planning. We’ll be following these easy steps this weekend and keeping on towards our goals (which are just 1 month away!)

You can still get on with the program and drop all the weight you need before Christmas .. call 310-LOSE to get started with your own personal weight loss coach today.

  1. If you’re a Kitchen Nightmares fan (the BBC version with potty-mouth Gordon) you might have seen the Fenwick Arms episode. Gordon shows the chef how to make real gravy with roasted vegetables and stock instead of flour. I know it’s gravy, and it’s hardly low-cal, but this method has to be way healthier than adding flour.

Simply roast some carrots, onions, and celery with herbs and seasoning alongside your bird. When the bird comes out, you basically puree the roasted veg along with the pan drippings (or some pan drippings) and add stock until you have your idea of lovely gravy. Season and smother that meat. (Don’t take my word for it, though. Google around a bit.)
