The United Way is Change We Can Believe In

I was honoured to be the co-emcee of the United Way Kick Off Breakfast this past week. It’s the 5th straight year they’ve had me out to the Hyatt to trade barbs with a co-host from Global TV. I’ve stood alongside Sophie Lui, Steve Darling, Erin Cebula, Reena Heer and this year it was Mark Madryga.

Mark is the Senior Meteorologist (weatherman) for Global and you know what? He LOVES weather. I was going to avoid make silly weather jokes… until he started making them. Dude absolutely LOVES weather, and I had a good time standing on the stage with him to kick off an ambitious campaign for the United Way.

They expect to raise nearly $33M in the next 12 months to help a variety of people in our community. From seniors to immigrants, the homeless to children learning to read.

They asked me to narrate some videos honouring people in our community making change through the United Way. Have a look at the clips to learn more about what the United Way is doing in your community.

If you want to help, but don’t know where to turn because so many charities are asking for help, giving to the United Way is something you can do and be guaranteed of making a difference. The organization helps dozens of other programs and thousands of people in our neighborhoods each and every day.
