I’m now into the heart of my LA Weight Loss adventures. After a couple of meetings with Dee at the North Vancouver location, and 2 days of the Quick Launch, I’m on my own to do proper meal balancing, planning and portioning.

The Quick Launch consists of 2 days of lots of water, protein, green vegetables and LA’s Quick Launch fruit juice. Dee says it’s all geared towards increasing my metabolism. I’ve been eating shrimp omelettes, half chickens, sashimi, tuna salad and entire cucumbers for the past 2 days. Despite the absence of sugar, carbs and salt, I gained 3 lbs.

That’s okay, says Dee. “We’ve got to Eat More to Lose More.” That’s what LA Weight Loss is about. Eating more of the right foods, in the right portion sizes to get you to your target weight.

The two meetings I’ve had with Dee are all about figuring out my eating habits, my lifestyle and planning out my eating schedule. At my first weigh-in I tipped at 207.4 lbs, Dee and I set out a target of 180 lbs, a loss of 27.4lbs which Dee says I can accomplish in 12 weeks - our target goal date is November 15. My jaw dropped.

I know I will be training for my Team Diabetes Disney World half marathon, but every other time I’ve done hard training, I’ve gained weight. After a 20k run, I’ll just sit on the couch and eat the rest of the day. Dee promises the training will be different this time.

So after the initial Quick Launch, I was loaded up with some LA approved snacks like biscotti, cheese curls, chocolate bars, and cookies. Dee and I planned out a my daily menu routine that will include a healthy mix of protein, fat, carbs and veg.

Here’s what I get to eat today:

breakfast:
2 poached eggs, 2 slices toast, 2 slices tomato, banana
snack:
la lite bar
lunch:
tuna sandwich with tomato, mayo, cheese, yogurt
snack:
la lite bar
dinner:
cod, asparagus, broccoli, pear
bedtime:
biscotti

Not a bad little opening day of food. Already my breakfast filled me up beyond belief. Since LA Weight Loss is all about using your own food, they’ve sent me home with a scale to properly weigh out the portions, and a portion plate.

La weight loss

Jen is most excited about the plate since it will segment her dinner so they don’t touch (she hates it when carrots touch beans, or chicken juice runs into the rice). I like the idea that you just fill up your portion plate with each type of food and you know you’re getting the right amount of each item.

So far things are easy as pie (except the gaining 3lbs part) but I trust Dee and her Eat More to Lose More plan.

I’m also looking forward to seeing your progress. I too could loose a few few pounds (hell a whole LOT). I wonder if they would sponsor me too :) I would be curious to know what your program would cost if you weren’t sponsored.

    Hey Gus.

The plans vary, you can get supplements or not, you can get snacks or not.

The basic level will get you one on one personal coaching to help you meet your goals. The counselling sessions have been very effective to help me rethink portion sizes and how to eat throughout the day.

I can say this .. when I factor in all the money I’m NOT spending on bad food, or eating out (lattes, burgers etc) it balances out the same. In other words, the money you’d spend on LA Weight Loss is equal to the money you’d spend on crap food. So it’s a win-win and net zero for your budget.

Call em up at 310-LOSE and see what they can do for you!
