LA Weight Loss Joins Team Diabetes Easter Island
Posted by buzz in goals, health, la weight loss, team diabetes, television, trainingI am thrilled to announce I have just signed a deal with LA Weight Loss to sponsor me for Team Diabetes Easter Island.
I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about this. I have completed 3 marathons in my life, but I have never run one. I always struggle around the 30k mark and end up limping home. One of those reasons is my weight, I’m just carrying too much of it.
At my heaviest this summer I have weighed 214. I’m just 5′9″. That gives me a Body Mass Index of 31.6, or obese. Now, honestly, if you were to look at me you wouldnt think that. But do I need to remind you of what I looked like running on the treadmill at the Peak Centre for Human Performance?
Yeah, man boobs and a big donut belly. That needs to go.
I had my weigh in yesterday and tipped in at 207. I think that’s a little light, if they would have grabbed me later in the day I could have been 210 easily. Whatever the number, it’s just too much. I would like to be 180, or into the mid 170s.
For now I’ve set my goal as 180. Dee says I’ll be able to hit that goal in 12 weeks, or November 15. Woah. That’s quick. Of course I’ll get some help with all the extra mileage I’ll be chewing up as I train for the 95 Crave Team Diabetes Crew Disney World trek in January where I’ll trot out a half marathon, but I still didn’t think I would be able to lose the weight that quickly.
I officially start tomorrow with a short blast of strict dieting.
It’s 2 days of drinking a fruit juice and eating only protein. It’s supposed to gear up my metabolism and jump start my body to get ready to lose weight. I’ll learn more on Monday.
Oh, also on Monday??
Jen and I have an on-camera audition to be on The Last 10 Pounds Bootcamp!! Our angle is all about a couple wanting to lose the extra baby weight we’ve both gained before we get ready for #2. Yeah .. after this week alone with Z, I could handle a petit monsieur or m’delle to mix in alongside Le Grand Monsieur.
Can you imagine tossing Tommy Europe’s ass kicking in with LA Weight Loss and my current running? Woah, look out George Clooney!

Hi!
Congrats on taking the weightloss/get fit/get healthy plunge! I think you will do great because you have such a positive attitude. I would have loved to do the ‘Team in Training’ this year, but recently gave birth to my sixth baby (she is now 9 months old) and the kids keep me busy. But, I am in training for my first half marathon this October in Victoria. I cannot wait!
I applied for that show too! Good luck with everything.
You are trully spreading the word Buzz….and that tummy of yours will be flat in no time .Most likely avoiding pre diabetes too.
Last week , one of my supporters , Andrew Sellars from Vernon , invited me for a session of lactate blood testing and glucose blood testing, while on the treadmill to determine the relationship between heart rate and speed. I have never used a heart rate monitor watch , however plan to purchase one tomorrow.
