How many tests could a tester text if a tester could text tests?

LG is bringing their dog and pony show to Metrotown tomorrow to pimp up some new phones that are texting friendly. They’ve been criss crossing the country qualifying people for the Canadian Texting Championships.

Here’s a clip from the presser I was emailed this week:

One – Two – Three – Four! LG declares a thumb war! LG Electronics Canada is challenging Vancouver media to put on their game thumbs for the LG Canadian Texting Championship this Friday. Vancouver media personalities will be going head-to-head in a competitive text messaging competition, graded on speed, style and accuracy.

WHO: LG Canadian Texting Championships
WHAT: The first annual LG Canadian Texting Championships and the 2008 Media Competition.
WHERE: Metrotown at Metropolis
WHEN: Friday, Aug 1, 2008- 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM
WHY: Y Not? (LOL)

I’ll be there for the media challenge, the rest of the competition happens throughout the weekend. Hopefully I’ll be up against print peeps more used to a steno pad and shorthand than hammering away with the thumbs.

$1000 is up for grabs for the fast media member’s favourite charity and you KNOW my Team Diabetes Easter Island fund could use that extra grand.

If you’ve got some time over the lunch hour tomorrow, it would be fun to see you there.

I just hope they don’t charge me 35 cents for each entry.
