Greg Norman, 2008 British OpenGreg Norman married Chris Everett 3 weeks ago and the Honeymoon hasn’t tired him out.

He’s 53 yrs old and 1 shot off the lead at the 2008 British Open.

That’s incredible.

The course is chewing up the players. The wind and rain have been blowing sideways all week, but Norman has been steady shooting even par both days.

Tiger makes a mockery of the fact that golf’s true test is consistent play over 4 days, but Norman will try to prove this weekend there’s still a little fight left in the Great White Shark.

It’s been more than a few years since the Shark has been competitive on tour, but some say Chrissy is in his corner, urging him to make a final serious push. For a while Norman has been content to design courses, clothes and wine. He’s a businessman with wealth beyond compare (especially when you see Everett’s engagement ring. It’s so big Oprah even gasped and asked to see it twice), and that’s made him a little complacent on the course. But not this week.

It is, without doubt, my favourite wine. It’s sweet and thick, and has the best butterscotch honey flavours. Jen and I cracked a bottle last week and I just about died. It had been a while since we’d sampled it and all the memories came flooding back. If you have some big thick scallops that you want to sear off and set aside on some wilted spinach, then a splash of this wine in your mouth will bring the party alive.

The Greg Norman Estates 2006 Chardonnay is pale straw in color with green hues. Aromas of peach and melon gain complexity with subtle oak notes. These fruit aromas develop across the creamy and smooth palate, supported by subtle oak nuances. [site]

It’s absolutely gorgeous, so raise a glass to Greg and cheer him on at the Open this weekend!
