SteakCamp 2008 on 95Crave

The Brave BullEarlier this week I tossed out a challenge to local Vancouver restaurant bloggers to go and have a meal at The Brave Bull. I’ve driven past it for decades, but have been afraid to go in. You’ve driven past it, it has the aura of a creepy biker gang bunker – but the steaks are only $8.95!

Raul was game to take my challenge and quickly organized SteakCamp 2008, a blogger meet up at The Brave Bull on Monday.

WHEN – Monday June 23rd, 2008 at 6:00pm
WHERE – The Brave Bull
WHY – To answer Buzz Bishop’s challenge to Raul (http://hummingbird604.com), Karen (http://tinybites.ca) and restaurant reviewers in Vancouver.

The Brave Bull’s House of Steaks
1298 E Hastings St, Vancouver
Tel: 604-253-4728 [Raul]

I took the story to my show on 95Crave on Wednesday afternoon, and the calls came streaming in.

Are you ready to take The Brave Bull Challenge? We’ll see you Monday night for SteakCamp 2008.

The Blog According to Buzz. Spread the word, ya heard?

  • Thanks for this Buzz! I had missed the opportunity to hear it live on 95Crave, so I am very glad you posted this! See you hopefully on Monday!

AWESOME! :) Apparently The Rock has eaten there, my husband tells me...
He'll probably join you guys (my husband, not the Rock...but hey, it's Vancouver, you never know...)

HAHA! You could get campy t-shirts made that say "I Survived SteakCamp 2008 @ The Brave Bull!" with a pic of the steer head they have on the "I Love Alberta Beef" bumper stickers.
  • Too funny. For the record, I will NOT be there.
  • Thanks for this challenge. I didn't puke, but I kinda wish I had.
  • Aww. Too bad Mostly Lisa didn't like it, I was quite happy she showed up. And, as you know by my blog review, I beg to differ. And apparently, so do the rest of the crew (10/12 people liked the place in one form or another).

Again, I do actually appreciate the challenge, because it gave me a chance to build new friendships. Thanks Buzz! :-) Looking forward to seeing you at the next event!
