Every now and again Jen and I will talk about our wedding. I mean, we are engaged. The wedding talk gets interspersed with negotiations for a second child. The timing of the two are deeply intertwined.
When we talk about the wedding, I continually push for a casual beach ceremony topped off with some AWESOME barbecue. You’ve seen the parties along Spanish Banks in the summer time. Big Filipino families with a hibachi and blankets and tents having the time of their lives. That’s what I vote for.
A spontaneous beach ceremony in the midst of flying frisbees, croquet and laughter with family and friends. The only difference between my wedding wish and the Filipino Family Reunion is the hibachi.
No thanks.
It’s a wedding, so you’ve got to do it up right, which is why I’d hire Smoke and Bones to do the catering.
I’m telling the story because yesterday afternoon the staff at the radio station office staff had a Scavenger Hunt and then a big bbq on our deck catered by this most excellent company.
I’m lucky I’ve gotten through this whole post without drool or sauce mucking up the keyboard. The baked beans will blow your mind. Seriously, they’re just baked beans - but sooooo much more.
If you’re wanting to do a wedding casually and differently (with lots of sticky fingers to wipe on your Sunday Best), or you’ve got a huge summer bash planned, I would seriously recommend calling up Smoke and Bones and getting ‘er done for $15- $25 a person - you can’t even do that at a restaurant.
