With that quote, Kevin Garnett finally realized a dream. He was an all star, he was MVP, but he wasn’t yet a champion. With a 39 point ass kicking of the Lakers tonight, Kevin Garnett and the Boston Celtics became Champions.
I really loved pro basketball in Vancouver. Tickets were easy to score for cheap or free, and no matter how far behind the team got in the first, you know a third quarter rally would always be coming to make it close. It was exciting.
Kevin Garnett’s rookie season was when the Grizz broke in, so he was one of the players I quickly started to follow. One night, after a game, I was having drinks with friends at the Sutton Place Hotel when KG and his entourage strolled through. I grabbed him for a photo.
He’s an awesome guy, congrats KG!

Sometimes it doesn’t matter if you win or lose, just that you watched the game.
I went into the heart of Little Italy today, Commercial Dr, to celebrate a beautiful game that means a lot to Jen and I.
It was 2 years ago when France played Italy in the final of World Cup 2006 that we knew we had something special, so to share a rematch of that game for Euro 2008 with my son means the world.
The gang atLa Rocca were the best, welcoming our opposing jerseys with open arms and getting a high chair for Z to put him in the center of the action.
Z had a blast, screaming and cheering and laughing and clapping. His head was on a swivel taking all the excitement in, and he grabbed at everyone who walked by as if to shake their hand and welcome them to the party.
I didnt spend Father’s Day with Z, this was the day I had circled on my calendar and it was awesome. Father and son, dressed in unison cheering for the same team.
Sure, had France won my day would have beem different, but I couldn’t have enjoyed it any more.
