That's too funny about Wine Wednesdays... my husband and I have always celebrated Whiskey Wednesdays - no kidding! Not every wednesday mind you... For white wines, I too live in the Okanagan and have fallen for Summerhill Winery's Ehrenfelzer (sp?). Very nice... and for red - I have to admit I love a good dry Chianti. Most often Barbi, Brunello di Montalcino from Tuscany. What can I say? I don't buy for the label - I go on reccomendations from friends and the odd "Just pick one and see".
Happy tasting!

Seeing as I live in the Okanagan (Wine Country), I can vouch for you that it is all about the label.

I have been to wine tastings, but in the store? I usually buy based on the appeal of the label. Friends have told me they do the same.

A winery here in Summerland changed its name to "Dirty Laundry", made a sweet logo, and now they are HUGE.

It's all in the advertising :)
