Any advice for uk residents. The first time i heard of BPA was yesterday 6th May!
I used avent products for all my babies (3) currently using tommee tippee bottles and microwave steamer with my 6 week old, so you can imagine my alarm. Im trying not to panic. NCT where on tv yesterday talking about this, ask viewers to ring if concerned, when I rang, the adviser said she didnt have a clue what I was talking about. I dont want to panic, but will see doctor and health visitors for advice and get kids checked. I feel such a bad mother as ive been surrounded by mums who solely breastfed their babies, I did both as my babies didnt get enough straight from the breast.

London Drugs is no longer taking back Avent bottles without a receipt as of May 5th. I am really angry about this as I have been to the store about 4 times to buy the Born free bottles and they were out of stock every time. My baby needed something to drink from until I could replace the Avent. Today, May 6th - they have stock and guess what; they won't take my bottles.

Buzz, thanks for the info in your blog and the sources such as Z rec!

FYI, London Drugs will be requiring a receipt after May 5, 2008 for any BPA infant bottle returns so get them in before then. I just saw a sign in their store today and confirmed that with their customer service line 1-888-991-2299.

LD has a max return limit of 6 Avent bottles at a time but not every clerk seems to enforce that. From speaking with a clerk, eventually Avent will will not be accepting any more bottles back so this program will be phased out. But LD should give some notice 1-2 weeks before that happens. Keep up the good work!
