If you thought figuring out why the people on Dancing with the Stars were considered “Stars” was difficult, get ready for even more confusion on Thursday when The Donald returns with The Celebrity Apprentice.

  • Trace Adkins
  • Carol Alt
  • Stephen Baldwin
  • Nadia Comaneci
  • Tiffany Fallon
  • Jennie Finch
  • Nely Galan
  • Marilu Henner
  • Lennox Lewis
  • Piers Morgan
  • Omarosa
  • Tito Ortiz
  • Vincent Pastore
  • Gene Simmons

I kinda know who most of the people are, but a few I have no clue. The big highlight will be seeing Gene Simmons tell Trump how’s it done. I give him til halfway through The Donald’s opening monologue before he loses it.

Since when did Omarosa join Cher, Madonna and Oprah as singularly named? Ugh. Yeah, I’ll watch - just to see if they smack her in the head with falling drywall again.

classicThe Winter Classic is underway in Buffalo. At the start the snow was dumping down and the puck couldnt go 10 feet before stopping in a snowbank. The players are grinning like they’re 8 and the crowd hasnt sat down.

It’s a spectacular event, but I doubt there’s anyone left wathcing the game on NBC.

Their coverage is terrible. There has been a dry scrape halfway through the first, and a hole that took almost 15 minutes to fill. The commentators haven’t got a thing to say and when they do they SCREAM and YELL like something EXCITING is happening, even if there isn’t. It’s just plain terrible. I’m a hockey fan and I can’t watch NBC’s coverage. Even their HD cameras have a fuzzy and dark tint, and aren’t nearly as good as the CBC’s.

Meanwhile - Hughson, Millen, Freidman and Simpson are kicking it on the Mother Corp. Smooth, anecdotal, relevant, diverse. Brilliant.

I’m trying to find the down low ice-level cam shot of the first goal by Armstrong from Crosby. Seeing Crosby coming down the wing, with an HD ice level camera (and I mean on the ice, not at the boards), was the coolest hockey camera angle I’ve ever seen.

This type of game and atmosphere and conditions are AWESOME. It’s wild to watch. BUT, I would rather see this sort of circus atmosphere for an All Star Game, not a regular season tilt.

The All Star Games are yawners to begin with, this sort of kitsch would make it much more of an event.

Okay, so Meg doesnt believe in New Year’s Resolutions on New Year’s Eve. She says:

..nothing in life changes because of the date, unless you decide it does. And you can do that any day of the year, be it January 1st or April 3rd or August 29th.

And Meg did. She scrubbed her Facebook profile in mid-December and started new. Good for Meg.

I’m doing things the regular old way. I waited until today and I’m making changes.

Here’s the first one:

I also plan to focus on maintaining an accurate budget, an organized workspace, successful blogs, a less stressed attittude, and, simply, trying harder.

It’s the last one that I want to ring true this year. I want to be honest with my effort. In work, in love, in play, in everything.

To be honest, most successes in my life have come easy. This year I won’t take them for granted, I will earn them and I will grow beyond expectations.
