When the 2010 Olympic Mascots were announced a couple of weeks ago, much of the fanfare was given to the cute Miga and the rough and tumble Quatchi.

Little girls like Miga.  Little boys like QuatchiI liked Sumi.

Well, it seems like everyone else agrees.  As we crash down on Christmas the Sumi dolls are the ones in short supply.

Miga and Quatchi are mascots for the Winter Games, while Sumi looks over the Paralympic Games.  I wonder if that has something to do with the popularity.  He’s the superhero for kids with a busted wing.

Sumi is an animal guardian spirit that is part-bear, part-thunderbird and wears an orca whale hat.

Sumi can do it, so they’ve got someone to look up to and lead the way.

The Blog According to Buzz. Spread the word, ya heard?

One Response to “Quatchi? Nope. Miga? Nope. It’s all about SUMI!”
  1. I dont like the other too, but Quatchi is cute. Mind you, Im not wasting my money one one. I dont have kids and Im not into it. I think the other two are kinda lame. They look too much like Japanese characters, but you know, the marketers were smart, thats whats in with kids, anime is huge.
