The best interview I ever did was with Janet Jackson in August of 1998.

How sad is it that I haven’t topped that in almost a decade? Well, recent interviews with Gwen Stefani and Avril Lavigne were pretty good. You can hear my archives on my official page.

The point of the post is the new track from Janet Jackson, Z100 is streaming Feedback if you want to listen. Janet’s album from earlier this year, 20Y.O. stunk out the joint, so she’s trying to hit it back again quickly.

Janet is an artist that had full Control of her career early on, but now seems to show you that it’s less about the singer’s talent and lyrics, and more about the producer’s ability to find new beats and sounds.

I think the new Janet track is generic. It could be done by anybody, it says more about the producer than it does the artist. But I hope it gets Miss Jackson back on top.
