Last week I was broadcasting from a mall on 95Crave. I cracked open my MacBook, hijacked a wifi connection and I had a streaming video signal online for all to see.

Today we are doing Nat and Drew’s Foodbank FillUp from Safeway locations across the lower mainland, err Metro Vancouver. We’re only broadcasting audio, but the set up is a feat of engineering magic. Cables, switches, signals, lines, phones, sweat all over the place simply to broadcast voice over the air.

This week you’ll hear many people asked to repeat themselves. You’ll hear feedback and staticy voices. We don’t want you to hear that, you just will - it’s how it is.

Video on the internet has been around for 10 years or so. Radio has been around for about 100. So why is the internet easier?
